We are on the NPIP surveillance program for Avian Influenza. Along with a very strict biosecurity program our birds are blood tested every 30 days. If we were to have a positive flock the flock would be destroyed immediately. This program is in effect 365 days per year. Our biosecurity program includes the following steps:
1. All employees on the farms and at the hatcheries do not keep pet birds or visit other premises that have other birds. 2. All employees enter the farms and hatcheries using a controlled set of protocols that change their everyday clothing into clean clothing and footwear they use specifically while working. We have our own laundries to ensure clothing does not get contaminated.
3. We only allow authorized visitors on the farms and at the hatcheries.
4. We have our own feed mill and only make feed for our own operations.
5. We have our own trucks for picking up and delivering to our farms. These trucks are washed and disinfected regularly.
6. We have a central office and receiving area separate from the farms and hatcheries where all deliveries going to the farms or hatcheries are received and then delivered to our operations by personnel who know our biosecurity protocols using our own vehicles.
