We have been in the chick hatching business all of our lives. Our history includes a hatchery which originated in 1962 in CT and MA. We moved to Interlaken, NY in 1987. We became Westwind Farms in 1995 and we built our new hatchery in 2006 in Interlaken, NY. Today our younger family members, Kelsey and Dennis, have joined the company and we are now called Westwind Poultry Farms, LLC.

After attending the NAFA meet in January of 2013 in Lancaster, we have had the pleasure of getting to know many falconers from all over the East. We would like to get to know all of you and hopefully be of service to you.



what we do





We are providers of frozen Day Old Chicks (DOCs). We are an NPIP tested facility both at the breeder and the hatchery level.


Our national approval number is 21-1493. We are Pullorum- typhoid clean, MG negative, MS negative, Salmonella Enteriditis negative, and Avian Influenza negative.


Testing is required every 30 days. We are cleared to ship our chicks both interstate and internationally.



The capacity at the hatchery is approximately 4,000,000 pullet chicks and of course approximately 4,000,000 cockerel chicks.


The cockerel chicks are euthanized using a modified atmosphere killing method composed of a CO2 mixture causing the birds to go to sleep before expiration.



The product is then cooled before boxing and then put in a blast freezer to provide best quality. Our goal is to provide our falconry and rehab friends with the highest quality product at a very reasonable price. We are a year round facility. We generally keep 30,000 frozen doc's on hand at all times.
